my dell laptop sucks?

09 Jun

last year i bought a new dell xps 1330. i bought it from dell.com thinking that it was a new deal. the graphics was 128 RAM Nvidia 8400, the memory was 4 gig RAM, and the Hard Draive was 320 gigs, which is ok i guess. i spent like $1700 for all the upgrades and stuff. my brother bought a MSI laptop for $1000. it has a much better graphics card, 512 MB Nvidia 9800. and he can play much more games than me. I mean wtf? scr3w dell. dell is f=ckin retarded. do u think dell is a good laptop brand? well i definitely never gonna buy a dell laptop again. expensive as hell and is not even good

why are dual-core laptops still manufactured?

08 Jun

here’s the excerpt from Christopher Null’s blog and i quote:”Performance is still very good with Core, so don’t feel like you’re getting second-class goods if you buy a Core Duo notebook, but remember you are buying a chip that Intel is no longer actively selling.”

so why do computer manufacturers still manufacture dual-core laptops in the first place? is it their way of clearing their stocks of dual-core chips?

and what do you think of this msi laptop (Dual Core T4200, 2GB DDR2, 250GB HDD, DVD±RW, NIC, WiFi, VGA NVIDIA GeForce 8200M 256MB (shared), Camera, 14″ WXGA, Non OS)?

i appreciate it
fyi, beardy…

the title of the blog itself is dual-core vs. core2duo! and the writer sometimes refers to it as core duo and sometimes dual-core

u dig wiseguy?

And what do YOU think of that laptop? It doesn’t matter what I think of it.

i was just asking for your opinion! just don’t write anything if you don’t know anything about it! it insults my intelligence!

what the hell is your problem pal!

haven’t got l*** for months?
obviously i’ve heard of intel core2duo before for i’ve got one myself for my laptop!

get a life pal!

Please help me decide which of these 4 laptops is the best?

07 Jun

Which of these 4 notebooks sold at Newegg would be the best deal? Click or copy-paste the URL below to see a comparison table of the 4 laptops.

If the URL does not work for some reason, just go to PCs & Laptops > Laptops/Notebooks > Guided Search > Graphic Type: Dedicated Card and then check the following notebooks and click COMPARE:

MSI GX710-280
Acer Aspire AS6930-6942
MSI GX630-028US
Acer Aspire AS6930-6560

**Select the best one in your opinion and please tell why it would be such a great deal, considering all the listed info/specs for each, as well as the promos like free shipping**

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Jon for the info/answer. Anyway, I’m going to use it for basic computer usage, gaming and some jobs that require the services of a good graphic card. I plan to use it both at home and on the go.

I was asking which would be the best deal for its price and specs (as a whole laptop). I narrowed it via the dedicated graphics factor, and limited myself to notebooks with class 2 graphic cards (according to notebookreview.com) that has the cheapest prices, while avoiding HP because of my bad history with the quality of their products. I can live with some of the downsides, ie 250gb hard drive only or no bluetooth.

I have already done spec-by-spec comparison so no need to go there. However, when I compared them spec-by-spec, each of them have different upsides and downsides against each other. In short, all of them seem equal to me and that’s why I’m having trouble deciding.

Is my motherboard bad or is my CPU bad?

07 Jun

Well I wanted to make basically a gaming computer and well I have everything put together and I try to start it up and no LEDs come on and my power supply fan turns on and my CPU fan goes so does my graphics card but it is at full blast, and nothing is telling it to slow down. My hard drive spins. Now here is another thing I put my power supply and my Nvidia 9800GT graphics card in another computer then one day I restarted it then the exact same thing started with that so now I have two computers that do not work. My new pc specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, MSI P6N SLI Platinum motherboard, 4 gigs of ram, EVGA Nvidia 9800 GT, 575W Logisys power supply. My old computer’s specs when it died: Acer T180, 1 gig of ram, EVGA Nvidia 9800 GT, Logisys 575W power supply, AMD Anthlon 64 3800+, Windows XP PRO, a network card. Why would both computers have the same symptoms? Here is what I tried to do: reset the BIOS, one stick of ram (I know that will not work), take out all ram and see if there is a beep for a warning (no beep), turn it on with the bare nessisitaties, try a PCI graphics card, put a diffrent LGA 775 processor in it (nothing), try a diffrent powersupply (nothing), put the motherboard on a desk to see if the case is shorting out the motherboard (nothing), boot from a cd even thou nothing will appear on the screen (nothing), put the Intel Duo E8400 in a diffrent computer (the other computers were too old of LGA 775 for the E8400), and it looks to me that both are bad motherboards, but what is causing it? And also my new motherboard never did work, my old one did until I restarted it that one day. Ony thing that is diffrent from the two is when I hold down the power button on the old one the cpu fan kicks in to HIGH speed. On the new one it just shuts off.

video card to tv?

06 Jun

OK so I have an MSI FX5200 AGP video card.

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=FX5200-TD128LF&class=vga

And I have a sylvania 37in digital/analog tv. 6637lct

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Sylvania-37-LCD-HDTV-6637LCT/sem/rpsm/oid/161756/catOid/-12869/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

So heres the senario. The video card has a s video plug in, so does the tv. So I bought an s cable and connected each other. But nothing could be seen! so I called a local computer shop, and they told me to install a newer type of Nvidia software on my computer, I did. But it still didn’t see anything! I called them again and they said they had to see the computer, but they cost too much! The computer reads the Tv, it’s just that the tv doesn’t show anything! And yes the cables are in the right place. I need help, Please!
