Thank you for posting this, I was curious of how C&C handled on the MSI Wind. I am dissapointed with it’s performance. Hopefully it can handle lower end games like Red Alert and Half-Life.

Why are you disappointed? Its not a gaming rig.

I understand that this is not a gaming rig, but I would expect more from the Intel GMA950. I am looking for a low end portable netbook, and I think I found one on newegg from ASUS, it has a dedicated Nvidia 9300 GS with 256 MB, and it is only 10″.

What kind of battery life does it get when playing a game?

I have been playing Command & Conquer Generals on my Flipstart UMPC. To get the very best performance, if you have not already done so go to Options and under where it says Detail, click on Custom. After this, uncheck every single box and you will get the best performance possible. After this, slide the Texture resolutions and particle cap to the lowest.

Don’t worry, it’s not running on an overclocked version of the MSI Wind so it’s not reaching it’s full potential.I’ve got a video on my profile showing how well this exact same laptop can handle Halo, and you’ll see what a difference there is between the stock 1.6GHz and 2GHz after overclocking!
