MSI 7207 Motherboard question. What version is best and why?

03 Mar

I have to replace my MSI 7207 socket 939 MB Part no.105551. Ver.2.0 Can someone tell me the difference between the version 1.0 motherboard and the version 2.0 ? What are the advantages of version 2.0 . Some replacements I have found have ver. 1.0 and some 2.0 Otherwise they are identical. Thanks for helping. Tom

MSI lists three versions of that motherboard:

    1. K8NGM2L or MS 7207- 060/ 7207-120 which appears to be the budget model because of only 2 SATA ports and the less sophisticated MCP 410 chipset.

    2. K8NGM2 NBP or MS 7207- 020 is better because it supports 4 SATA ports and has the better MCP 430 chipset.

    3. K8NGM2 FID or MS 7207- 040 seems to be best. It also has the MCP 430 chipset but has 4 FASTER SATA ll ports and wider RAID support.
