September 21, 2009 12:15 am | #1If it’s still possible to pick this up, would you recommend it for writing a big assignment (like say, a masters thesis)? Or would that just get tedious and cramped? Also, is it on par with the Samsung NC10 or is that better, specifically with regards to the keyboard, battery life and noise output? Thanks in advance.
September 21, 2009 1:05 am | #2The keyboard is something like 80% of a full sized keyboard. So unless you have small fingers, get a real sized laptop.
September 21, 2009 1:08 am | #3The reviews I’ve read of the MSI Wind U100 (and its competitor, the Asus Eee PC 1000H), all state that the keyboard is about 90-95% of a full sized one. Perhaps I should just check it out for myself at a local computer store. And I do have a real laptop. It’s just so bloody huge and heavy and loud… urgh. Not so much portable as “draggable in a pinch”, hence why I’m looking for something small and light, yet perfectly usable. Something that fits in a bag along with books, papers and a thermos.

September 21, 2009 1:54 am | #5hi i noticed that you posted this video quite a long time ago but i still hope you get to read this … i have the asus eee pc notebook right now but iam planning to sell it and buy the msi wind U100 instead… will it be a good choice?? is the msi wind better?
September 21, 2009 2:25 am | #6I think it’s the same. Depends which Eee PC of course, there are dozens of different models. I’d say, just go for the cheapest one you can find and it will be just fine.
September 21, 2009 2:46 am | #7haha …. sorry .. i forgot to say which model of the asus laptop i got … what i have is the Asus eee pc SURF … the one with only 4Gb SSD …. i was planning to sell it and buy the MSI Wind U100 but I am quite worried with the screen cause as i watched the videos, it was quite wobbly … looks like it’ll break easilly … and i also read some comments that the screen is really not that solid and strong … is it true?
September 21, 2009 3:20 am | #8All netbook screens are the same. Next month in June new cheaper laptops might be unveiled with ARM processors for below 200 dollars. I am waiting for those.
