My Ram isn’t running as fast as it should be?

12 Mar

I have OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory installed in my computer. But when I run CPU-Z, it tells me that my RAM is only running at 400mhz. Shouldn’t my RAM be running close to 1.0GHz since it is DDR2 1066? I am running Vista 64-bit also. Here is my setup:

It will be restricted, MSI, Gigabyte like to do it for some reason, you’ll have to jump in your bios and overclock it slightly, but that might mess with your warranty.

DDR2 SDRAM is a double data rate synchronous dynamic random access memory technology.
    DDR2-1066 = 533MHz I/O bus clock, yours is 400MHz (*2=DDR2-800)

Consult your motherboard manual for adjusting memory/bus ratio in BIOS.
