Well I wanted to make basically a gaming computer and well I have everything put together and I try to start it up and no LEDs come on and my power supply fan turns on and my CPU fan goes so does my graphics card but it is at full blast, and nothing is telling it to slow down. My hard drive spins. Now here is another thing I put my power supply and my Nvidia 9800GT graphics card in another computer then one day I restarted it then the exact same thing started with that so now I have two computers that do not work. My new pc specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, MSI P6N SLI Platinum motherboard, 4 gigs of ram, EVGA Nvidia 9800 GT, 575W Logisys power supply. My old computer’s specs when it died: Acer T180, 1 gig of ram, EVGA Nvidia 9800 GT, Logisys 575W power supply, AMD Anthlon 64 3800+, Windows XP PRO, a network card. Why would both computers have the same symptoms? Here is what I tried to do: reset the BIOS, one stick of ram (I know that will not work), take out all ram and see if there is a beep for a warning (no beep), turn it on with the bare nessisitaties, try a PCI graphics card, put a diffrent LGA 775 processor in it (nothing), try a diffrent powersupply (nothing), put the motherboard on a desk to see if the case is shorting out the motherboard (nothing), boot from a cd even thou nothing will appear on the screen (nothing), put the Intel Duo E8400 in a diffrent computer (the other computers were too old of LGA 775 for the E8400), and it looks to me that both are bad motherboards, but what is causing it? And also my new motherboard never did work, my old one did until I restarted it that one day. Ony thing that is diffrent from the two is when I hold down the power button on the old one the cpu fan kicks in to HIGH speed. On the new one it just shuts off.

Has anyone ever got the MSI K9N4 SLI motherboard to work with Windows 2000 using only a SATA hard drive?
I started building an Athlon 64 system using a K9N4 SLI motherboard. I was running dual boot on the SATA drive I transferred to the new system, with both Windows 98 and Windows 2000. Well, the new motherboard doesn’t support Windows 98 (unless you run it in safe mode), and MSI’s site says it was not designed to use with Windows 98. However, when I try booting into the Win 2000 partition, it gives the BSOD with a message “Inaccessible_boot_device.”
So, I figured I needed to reinstall Win 2K. Well, it gets to the point where it says to hit F6 if drivers are needed off of a floppy disk for the storage controller. The board came with no such disk, and I’ve made disks from every single directory on the CD which has a txtsetup.oem file in it. Not a one allows Windows 2000 to install. I’ve downloaded the SATA RAID floppy files from MSI’s site, that doesn’t work. So I don’t know what to do at this point. I don’t own XP, so I’d like to try to get it to work with Win 2K if I can.

Obviously, I already did what you suggest, and it does not work. The link you gave is PRECISELY where I got the files. So why doesn’t precisely following what you suggest work?
About how long does an average motherboard last? I’ve had mine for about 4 years now, its a MSI K8MMV?
My computer will show my motherboard and then a few seconds later restart. It has been getting worse and worse over time.
Yea i have from week to week kept my computer running for 3+ days. i keep my computer case off, dusted it out (helped for a month or so) then it got back to its regular routine of restarting. its a comfy 70 degrees in our basement.

Searching for motherboard for Nvidia Quadro FX 4400?
Building a new system and I got my hands on an Nvidia Quadro FX 4400. The cpu is an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400. Got everything else; DDR2 Ram, Burners, 650W Power Supply, etc. Now I just need a motherboard. I was looking at the MSI P6N SLI Platinum, but I thought I would get some suggestions first. Does anyone know if this board is compatible with the Quadro?
I brought one quality gpu with the hopes of getting it’s twin in the future. My understanding is that the board will function with 1 gpu with SLI mode off? No?
new MSI P7N SLI Platinum motherboard will not START!!?
Guys im stumped. I have this new MSI P7N SLI Platinum motherboard and it will not even start.
I am putting on it a 510Watt ACBel Power Supply, 2.4 G Quad Core, 4 Gb ram, with XFX 8600 vga in SLI, Soundblaster soundcard and an extra 8400 nvidia (for 3 monitor.)
This is the second new MSI P7N SLI Platinum motherboard im working on. The first new MSI P7N SLI Platinum had the same problem. So im thinking there cant be 2 motherboads from MSI which has the same problem!!
Ive tried the following
-I tried another working power supply
-chaged the panel switch in the front.
-Have rechecked everything u can think of again and again.
-I take ESD precautions.
-Electrical Power is protected with a Belkin spike guard
-The only thing that is not covered is the second power connector on the motherboad is an 8 pin socket. My PSU only has 6 pins? Will this cause a problem?
Just will not start . There is a red power light on that motherboard that remains on when the power switch is on.
Serious answers ONLY!!
Thanks guys
