Question about my HP Pavilion Media Center pc?

Hello all, I’m new here, and very frustrated with my new HP Pavilion Media Center Computer. Every time I open a video file or video editing program, a Window’s Installer program attempts to run and says:

“The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package ‘DocumentViewer.msi’ in the box below.”

The Box Shows: C:\hp\temp\src\setup\DocumentViewer\

When I hit cancel I get the following error: “Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product DocumentViewer. The Windows installer cannot continue.”

I have searched for the file and cannot locate it. I have searched Microsoft’s website to no avail. I have contacted HP several times using chat and they said I have to do a restore back to factory settings. They will not provide the file or any other information. Does anybody know of any other solution?

Windows XP laptop question?

Hello guys.

I recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope on my ASUS X58L laptop.

The thing is, I want XP as well as Linux.

I have a recovery disk at the moment, but it’s for an MSi Netbook, and I’m wondering whether it will work, and if I’ll have to adjust the screen res.

Help?

I wanted to update my Windows Installer I have 3.1 Version and my registry is missing 2 strings, will an updated Msi updade delete items on my Hardrive? will is mess up anything? also what is the best updated installer? I really appreciate the help.

Question about online gameing on lan with two computers?

I have a cable 10 meg connection and a Belkin pre n router on my pc.
My wife has a pre n network card on her pc down stairs. When we play battlefiled on the same server both our pings are constantly 20-25.
But on my computer it judders then kicks me off while hers judders a little but she plays no probs.
When i set up an online game my wife can join and so can other peopel on the net and it plays fine, but i dont know why it wont play ok when me and the wife play on a ranked batlefield 2 server.
My specs are

Athlon 64 3800+
2 gig ram
MSI NX7900GT Grapihcs card
So i dont know what the problem could be, any info from some techies would help.

Caomputer question?

for some reason when ever i am on stuff like movie maker a popup comes up and says “Please wait while windows configures document viewer”. Then it says “The feature you are trying to use is univalible”. Then it lets you brouse your files to get it a file called “DocumentViewer.msi”. It is a installiantion package. When i press ok it says “the path canot be found, verafy you have acces to this location and try again”. it continues saying stuff bout this package! if i try to close it it starts from the start! HELP

A question for MSI fans- Jimmy urines jacket?

im looking to buy a jacket in the same style as the black jacket jimmy always wears with one of his famous frazes like ‘as seen on tv’ ‘kick me’ ‘fuck you’ ‘goodbye’ not that goodbye is a fraze just it’s one of the things on the back… SO anyone know where i can buy his style jackets? or perhaps a DIY maker who’s selling em?

Hard drive speed question.?

Hi.

Currently I have 2 hard drives installed on my machine. Both of them 7200rpm. 80gb used for storage and 20gb running windows xp pro sp2.
other specs
– Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz
– MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce
– EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16

My question is if I purchase the following hard drive and and install and run windows xp on that hard drive, how much performance increase can I expect?
faster booting time?
better performance in gaming?
office applications?
image editing, etc?

Windows xp currently installed on Maxtor 20gb 7200 rpm, avg. seek time 9.7ms. 2mb buffer size

Looking to purchase this one to replace 20 gb

2nd: What Types of Games Could this Handle?

World Of Warcarft; Mass Effect 2; CoDMW2; Counter-Strike Source; Cryist; Borderlands;

3nd and last; If possiable could you change the Video card on this Computer ? If so what are some recommendations? or should i just leave it with the GT 9600.

My pc is a pc3200 msi- ms-7200 with the geforce fx5200 video card and i’ve tried buying a 4-pin cord for the video out on the card and i ran the rca jacks on the other end to my tv and the screen is really, really bad, you can tell there is the same picture that’s on the desktop, but it looks very scrambly and bad, i tried everything. i even installed the drivers from the msi and nvidia websites, nothing is working? i set the tv as dual view and as clone. i right click on my desktop and go to settings and switched resolutions and hertz? i even checked the box extend my windows desktop into this monitor? i hope it’s something small? nobody has helped me yet on other site fixes.

MSI GX630 Gaming Laptop Question?

I’m in need of a very good laptop for college that won’t fail me and I like this one in particular. My parents are going to pay half for the laptop and I’m going to pay the other half, I have a limit though and $800 is too high. $15 for shipping I don’t mind at all. So here’s the main question, since it has 3 years warranty by manufacturer, should I get an extended warranty? in case of DOA or a LEMON from Newegg? but that’s another $150 and then I would have to look at another laptop. I figured, “Isn’t a 3 year warranty by manufacturer fine?” compared to other brands that only offer 3 months to a full year.

“MSI GeForce 9500 GT Video Card” installation question?

The package include an audio cable, and it never mentioned in the manual, what should I do with it?

Has anyone any experience?

Also on TigerDirect site, it says the card needs:
One 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector -or- Two 4-pin Molex supplementary power connectors

I don’t see any power connector on the card. Is this just a misstatement?

I have a job interview with MSI Inventory Service…quick question.?

So I sent in an application and the next morning I got a call saying I have an interview today at 4pm.

They gave me the name of my interviewer and said it was at Panera Bread(it’s a little sandwich cafe thing..)

Thing is, how would I know who I’m looking for when I got there? Do I walk up to everyone like “Hi is your name *her name*”??? Just seems odd…I’ve never had an interview that wasn’t in the company office…
Or is it someone working at Panera Bread that I’m being interviewed by?
I’m so confused.. ha

Audio configuration question. My audio has stopped working period.?

I have an MSI p6n motherboard, and recently, i’ve just been using my USB headphones, and they’ve been fine. But since I reformatted my computer, my speakers and audio have just stopped working. Any suggestions? I’ve tried going into the Drivers disc but i cant find what the audio drivers are.
