when ever im on my computer this file pops up saying please wait while windows configures windvd…gathering required information cancel
..when u press cancel it gors and comes back saying windows are installing
.. then it does what ever its doing and comes back and says the feature you are trying to use is on a network source that is unavailable ok
cancel
click ok to try again or enter an alternativepath to a folder containing the installation package ‘windvd.msi’ in the box below
use source: browse
then if u click cancel it goes to error 1706 no valid source could be found for product windve. the windows installer cannot continue ok
please help me this shit is so annoying, ill be talking to my
friends and it will pop out of nowhere, i’ll give best answer

Is this a good computer setup?

I’m planning on building a PC, these are the components i have chosen for video i’m going Dual PNY VERTO GeForce 8600 GTS 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express Video Card w/Dual DVI, CPU Chip will be INTEL Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33GHz FSB1333MHz 4M LGA775, Motherboard, MSI P6N SLI Platinum nForce 650i SLI Socket 775 1333MHz DDR2-1066, to power it all, Antec NeoHE 500 High Efficiency, and for the ram i’m gettin this, Kingston KVR800D2N5K2/2G 2GB Kit DDR2-800 PC2-6400. All of this will be put in COOLER MASTER RC-330-KKN1-GP Elite 330 Mid Tower Case. Also this dvd burner, SAMSUNG SH-S203B/BEBN 20X SATA. All of the parts will be ordered from zipzoomfly.com and would cost 567.75. What do you think? will it be a beast?
I did go to new egg, a few things there are back ordered, i’m in a rush and have submitted my order :) gaming? heck yeah, Crysis is first, Gears of war, kane an lynch, *drool*
the psu does support it, it’s on the mainboards site recommendation. I did my research

What is this MSI beep code and why is my computer shutting off?

When I turn on my computer I get one beep which I think is just a system startup beep, but the a couple of seconds later I get 3 consecutive beeps and then my computer continues to turn on normally. Most of the time it’s fine, but then my computer just randomly shuts off. Sometimes I can just turn it back on and others I have to unplug it and wait 10 seconds or so for the power to leave the system. One other interesting thing is that it never seems to happen when I’m playing computer games.

2GB DDR2 Corsair Ram
550 Watt psu

Can I overclock this laptop?

I’ve been trying to find a nicely priced gaming laptop, and after doing a bit of searching I’ve found MSI GT627-216 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152095
It has all the specs I want, and can easily overclock with the push of a button

But then I came across Gateway P-7801u http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834101166
it has better screen, battery, and a slight GPU upgrade, but no idea if it can overclock to the power of the MSI laptop

Without overclocking the Gateway is a much better deal, but if it can’t overclock then the MSI can kick it’s butt in performance.
So do any of you know if the Gateway is overclockable like the MSI?

also a note, the gateway is no longer available at newegg but they have them in stock at a local best buy
Okay, I think I may go with the MSI then, because for one it is a bit smaller and having 15 inch may be easier to carry than the 17 inch, I can live with the lower res. Plus reading the reviews it seems to withstand just fine with heat and overclocking, it would still be under warranty since they give you an overclocking button
